The OCC's Office of the Ombudsman is organized around the core principles of dispute resolution and customer service. The office seeks to ensure that national banks and their customers receive fair and expeditious resolution of their complaints through two distinct units within the office.

1. Provides customers of National Banks with a venue to resolve complaints;
2. Alerts OCC Bank Supervision of potential problems;
3. Provides senior bank management with an analysis discussing the volume and trends of their bank's consumer complaints.

OCC emblem

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency was created by Congress to charter national banks, to oversee a nationwide system of banking institutions, and to assure that national banks are safe and sound, competitive and profitable, and capable of serving in the best possible manner the banking needs of their customers.
