Kathryn E. Dick
Deputy Comptroller
Credit and Market Risk
Kathy Dick is a Deputy Comptroller for the Credit and Market Risk Department in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), sharing this
responsibility with Ned Pollock.
Ms. Dick and Mr. Pollock serve as the agency’s principal advisors on systemic risks facing the national banking system and co-chair the OCC’s
National Risk Committee, which coordinates the agency’s risk identification practices.
The OCC formed the Credit and Market Risk Department in February 2006 to facilitate the agency’s ability to develop comprehensive policy with
respect to financial markets products and services. Areas of expertise that are supervised by Ms. Dick include trading activities, derivatives, structured
products, liquidity, interest rate risk, and asset management. She also oversees the OCC’s Financial Markets Group, which is a newly formed team
charged with developing a market intelligence system that aids in early identification of emerging risk issues.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Dick served in various OCC leadership positions, including oversight of the OCC’s London office. In her capacity
there, she was responsible for the supervision of U.S. national bank branches throughout Europe, and served as the OCC’s representative on Basel-
and Joint Forum-sponsored initiatives addressing financial conglomerates, hedge funds, and derivatives.
Ms. Dick earned a master’s in business administration from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota in 1983, and a bachelor’s of
arts from the University of Minnesota in 1981. In 1992, Ms. Dick received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
