  OCC Releases First Quarter 1996 CRA Examination Schedule
  
  The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today
  released its schedule for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)
  examinations of national banks in the first quarter of
  1996.
  
  Public comments about the institutions to be examined
  should be directed to the institutions themselves or to
  the appropriate OCC district office.  All public comments
  received prior to the close of the CRA examination will be
  considered by the OCC.

  The OCC charters, regulates and examines approximately 3,000 national banks
  and 70 federal branches and agencies of foreign banks in the U.S.,
  accounting for more than half of the nation's banking assets.  Its mission
  is to ensure the safety and soundness of the national banking system.
