The salary range above includes 13% geographic differential pay.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Creates, organizes, and maintains databases and case files using litigation support software. Provides user support and customer service, interacts with users of varying skill levels, and responds to on-demand training and assistance requests relating to use of litigation support software. Maintains case and workload management systems for all pending cases and investigations.

Oversees, coordinates, and tracks enforcement case progress and work-flow from inception to trial or other closure. Reviews database data loads, develops recommendations and plans, and creates and manages databases and spreadsheets in tracking witnesses and documents. Organizes files and archives closed files according to policy and regulation.

Conducts research of legislative, policy, and case law, and performs initial analysis for the preparation of legal opinions using a variety of legal research tools and mediums. Identifies need for additional documentary evidence or information, potential witnesses, and additional legal research.

Reviews, collects, extracts, summarizes, and analyzes, as appropriate, information from a wide variety of sources. Reviews correspondence, messages, pleadings, and other documents to determine whether and when action is required and proposes appropriate disposition to the applicable attorney.

Assists in case preparation for investigation and litigation and analyzes facts and legal questions. Participates in trial preparation and presentation. Summarizes factual background and legal issues. As directed, drafts responses for the attorney’s review. Works with attorneys, the case management analyst, and support staff.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NB-III. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is evidenced by performing a variety of progressively responsible and high-level assignments or activities associated with: using automated litigation support software systems, organizing and maintaining files, performing research and analyzing documents, and working in a team environment.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:

In addition to the above qualification requirements, candidates must possess the following Selective Placement Factor to be considered qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how they meet this requirement in their application.

BASIS FOR RATING:
Qualified applicants will be rated and ranked based on the extent and quality of their total background as it relates to the requirements of the position to be filled.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.
