Description: Notice

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published a final rule establishing escrow accounting procedures under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act on October 26, 1994. The rule requires disclosure of an aggregate accounting adjustment for the last line in the 1000 series of the HUD-1 and HUD-1A settlement statements. On April 4, 1995, HUD published a notice in the Federal Register of the availability of software to calculate the numerical value of the aggregate accounting adjustment.

Attached is a copy of the notice published in the Federal Register. The notice provides instructions for obtaining the software on the Internet at no charge or via mail or phone for a $15 charge. The notice also provides a toll free telephone number to answer inquiries about the software and/or order a software diskette. That toll free number is (800) 245-2691.
