Scott Schainost Deputy Comptroller Midsize Bank Supervision Deputy Comptroller Midsize Bank Supervision

Scott Schainost is one of two Deputy Comptrollers for Midsize Bank Supervision at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

In this role, Mr. Schainost oversees a portfolio of midsize national banks and federal savings associations with assets generally ranging from $10 billion to $60 billion, as well as a number of nationally chartered credit card banks. He assumed these duties in May 2017.

Mr. Schainost has held a variety of positions at the OCC during his 34 years at the agency. He has served as a Field Manager, Assistant Deputy Comptroller in Wichita, Kansas, and Boston, Associate Deputy Comptroller in the Northeastern District, and the Midsize and Community Bank Supervision Liaison in headquarters.

Mr. Schainost began his career as an Assistant National Bank Examiner in Kansas City, Missouri after graduating from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
