Bela Szemely is a Financial Economist in the Market Risk Analysis Division within Economics at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Dr. Szemely's research interests include macroeconomics, banking and financial institutions, and household finance. Dr. Szemely joined the OCC in 2014 from Questrom School of Business at Boston University. He holds an MA degree in Economics from Central European University, Budapest, Hungary and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Duke University.
