The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will host a symposium on the tokenization of real-world assets and liabilities February 8, 2024, at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The symposium will promote public discussion of the potential for the tokenization of real-world financial assets and liabilities to improve the efficiency and robustness of financial settlements, with a particular focus on the foundations needed to ensure responsible innovation.
The symposium will include keynote remarks from Hyun Song Shin, Economic Adviser and Head of Research at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and panel presentations to explore the legal foundations for digital asset tokens, tokenization use cases, and risk management and control considerations. There will also be a panel discussion of academic papers on tokenization.
The symposium is open to the public and available for viewing via livestream. Registration is required for in-person attendance at the symposium and is open until January 22, 2024, or until full, whichever occurs first. Information about the symposium agenda and registration is available here.
