OCC Names New Assistant Deputy Comptroller for National Banks in the OCC’s Fort Worth Field Office

DALLAS—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) named Hub Thompson as Assistant Deputy Comptroller of its Fort Worth Field Office.

In this role, Mr. Thompson will lead a team of examiners who supervise 23 community national banks and federal savings associations.

"Hub has a broad understanding of bank supervision gained through his experience as a national bank examiner for national banks and federal savings associations of all sizes," said Gil Barker, OCC District Deputy Comptroller for the agency's Southern District Office in Dallas. "His knowledge of supervision and banking practices will serve the OCC and the federal banking system well."

Mr. Thompson has an extensive and diverse range of experience. He started his career as a field examiner in the Lubbock and Fort Worth field offices in 1983. He also has specialized expertise in bank technology and problem bank supervision, having been the nine-state OCC Southern District's Lead Information Technology Expert and the Problem Bank Specialist.

Mr. Thompson is presently the Deputy Comptroller Analyst in the Southern District. He is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Mr. Thompson completed the cross-credential examination in 2015, which qualifies him to examine national banks and federal savings associations.

The OCC ensures that approximately1,500 national banks and federal savings associations across the nation operate in a safe and sound manner, provide fair access to financial services, treat customers fairly, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
