Operational risk is the risk to current or projected financial condition, earnings, and resilience arising from misconduct, human error, inadequate systems or processes, or adverse external events. Operational risk touches every part of a financial institution and is heavily influenced by the strength of internal controls. In this workshop, directors and management will learn how this risk occurs, what can be done to mitigate it, and how effective oversight helps foster a strong and risk-aware culture.
Work with and learn from experienced OCC examiners who lead this workshop, which includes discussions of best practices, lectures, and hands-on exercises designed for directors and senior management of national community banks and federal savings associations.
